The journal publishes high-quality papers relevant to the central
theme of fish biology and aims to bring together under one cover
an overall picture of the research in progress and to provide international
communication among researchers in many disciplines with a common
interest in the biology of fish. Topics covered include: Aquaculture;
Behaviour; Biochemistry; Diseases; Distribution; Ecology; Genetics;
Growth; Immunology; Migration; Morphology; Parasitology; Physiology;
Pollution; Population studies; Reproduction; Taxonomy; Toxicology.
The Journal of Fish Biology is now published by Blackwell
Publishing. Individuals and libraries that have not received
recent (since 2003) issues to get in touch with Blackwells. Anyone
who has not received issues up to and including December 2002 on
the other hand should contact our previous JFB publisher (Elsevier).

JOURNAL OF FISH BIOLOGY SUPPLEMENTARY ISSUES
We are pleased to announce the launch of four special Molecular
Sciences supplementary issues within the Journal of Fish Biology
from 2006. These Molecular Sciences supplementary issues will feature
papers on molecular biology, genetics, taxonomy, biochemistry and
immunology and will be edited by Professor Norman Maclean. The
first supplement is available free.
PRE-SUBMISSION ASSISSTANCE WITH MANUSCRIPTS
The Journal of Fish Biology has become a preferred site for publication
of papers, with submission rates at an all time high. Whilst this
is greatly welcomed, it can pose problems for authors whose first
language is not English. Previously editors and referees have provided
some assistance in correcting the English, but this is becoming
more and more difficult due to the increasing volume of work. For
those in this situation help is at hand!
The Lucidus Consultancy (a pre-submission editorial service), aided
by a panel of fish biologists, including members of FSBI, will provide
assistance in the revision of text to bring your manuscript to a
standard acceptable for consideration by the Journal. The reviewers
will check and amend your text but will not express an opinion about
its suitability for publication, as that is the prerogative of the
Journal's Editor.
The cost of this service is €10-15 per page. For further details
and for submission of draft manuscripts send your requests to: edit@lucidusconsultancy.com.
