
The Society's membership base is global. Although most are based in the British Isles, there are significant numbers in Europe (especially Germany and Norway), Australia, Canada, the USA, with smaller numbers in Asia and Africa.
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in furthering the objectives of the Society.
Full Membership is available to all persons, except registered students, and conveys all membership benefits, including voting rights at the FSBI Annual General Meeting. (£10)
Full Subscriber Membership is available to all persons, except registered students, wishing to receive a subsidised subscription to the Journal of Fish Biology in addition to all membership benefits, including voting rights at the FSBI Annual General Meeting. (£30)
Retired Membership is available to all retired persons eligible for Full Membership and conveys all Full Membership benefits as well as a subsidised subscription to the Journal of Fish Biology. (£15)
Student Membership available to all registered students and conveys all membership benefits (except voting rights and eligibility to sit on Council). (£10)
Student Subscriber Membership available to all registered students and conveys all membership benefits (except voting rights and eligibility to sit on Council) as well as a subsidised subscription to the Journal of Fish Biology. (£15)
Beverton medallists automatically become Honorary life members.
