The University of East Anglia is in a lovely rural setting with many of the buildings overlooking green parkland and a ‘broad’ (local term for a lake) and yet it is only 3 miles from the centre of Norwich. Buses run regularly to the city centre and the railway station and there is ample car parking on site and a parking permit can be booked through the symposium organiser.
There is also a supermarket, banks with cash points, post office, newsagent, launderette, travel agent, bookshop, pharmacy and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.

Norwich is a thriving market town whose ancient buildings and city wall remains make it the most complete medieval city in Britain. The city is steeped in history with over 1500 historic buildings including medieval churches, 2 cathedrals and a Norman castle. Its cobblestone streets are just as famous for its friendly bars and restaurants.
