Accommodation details are given on the Registration pages but if you require different accommodation please contact the Symposium Administrator.

The conference organisers are able to offer low-cost accommodation in the Thwaite Hall of Residence (Cottingham). These are single occupancy rooms with individual washbasin facilities. Please note however that these are NOT en suite and all have shared bathroom facilities. This accommodation is a full board option (dinner, bed and breakfast), is available from  07 to 10 July and can been booked via the online registration page. Daily transport between Thwaite Hall and the conference venue on the main campus will be provided.

Please note that if you are organising your own alternative accommodation that you will need to separately book places at the Conference dinner and/or Thwaite Hall BBQ dinner, via either the online or offline registration pages, should you wish to attend.


Breakfast (full English) is included in the cost of the room.

Refreshments and a finger buffet lunch will be available each day to registered delegates.

Dinner is included in the cost of the room for those staying in the Hall of Residence.

Please advise the Symposium Administrator if you have special dietary requirements.

The opening welcome reception on the evening of Monday 07 July 2014 will be at the Thwaite Hall of Residence.

A Civic Reception will be held at the City’s Guild Hall for all delegates who wish to attend on the opening day of the conference (Tuesday 08 July).

A BBQ dinner will be held on Wednesday 09 July at the Thwaite Hall Residence, this will be open to both residents and non-residents.

The conference dinner will be held at The Deep, one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world and home to a whopping 3,500 fish including Europe’s only pair of green sawfish, spectacular sharks and rays. This event will be on Thursday 10 July.
