Queen's University, Belfast (QUB) offer excellent single room accommodation at Elms Halls of Residence, which is situated in pleasant parkland in a quiet residential area close to the main campus. In fact, it is hard to tell that you are in a city when you are in the Elms Village, as it is known. It has 24 hour security and reception cover. There is a social area at its centre which also has a small shop, ATM cash machine and coin operated laundry. There is limited onsite parking and anyone wishing to use the parking should make this known to the symposium organiser.

Elms Village is located within easy walking distance (ca. 1 km) to the south of the symposium location at the main campus of QUB. It is positioned adjacent to a busy bus route, and local taxis are inexpensive.

Accommodation

Accommodation is offered as either en-suite (shower & toilet) or standard (wash basin only, bathrooms nearby) single rooms. The accommodation blocks are a maximum of 3 floors each with a common room/kitchen which is equipped with a TV and Tea & Coffee making facilities.

Extra nights may be booked for Sunday 25 July and Friday 30 July. If this doesn't quite fit into your travel arrangements, please contact the symposium organiser for further details.

Meals

Breakfast (full English) is included in the cost of the room and will be served in the restaurant at Elms Village. Refreshments and a finger buffet lunch will be available each day in the South Dining Hall which is close to the Peter Froggatt Centre where the lecture theatre is situated.

On Monday evening we will have the Welcome Reception which will take place in the Canada Room and Council Chamber. This is a lovely set of rooms which overlook the lawns at the front of the University. We will be having the Poster Session in the South Dining Hall on Tuesday evening. On Monday - Wednesday we will be providing dinner in the Cloisters Restaurant and there will be other entertainment after dinner - watch this space! The Symposium Banquet will take place in the Great Hall on Thursday evening. This splendid wood panelled hall is one of the most sought after venues in Northern Ireland. Our last evening and an event not to be missed.
