Call for PapersPotential contributors should indicate their interest in presenting a paper and/or poster by submitting a title and abstract (up to 250 words) by e-mail attachment (preferably in a Word document) to the conference co-ordinator, Tricia Ellis-Evans (e-mail: tricia@paceprojects.co.uk) by 30th November 2007. The layout should be as follows: TITLE OF PRESENTATION (in bold capital letters) Oral Paper / Poster (Please indicate which is preferred) Author(s) names(s) (family name followed by given name and initials) and full address(es) but not academic titles or official positions. Text of the abstract (250 word limit) Below is an example:
The scientific committee will review all abstracts for relevance to the Symposium theme and scientific merit. Poster contributions may cover wider aspects of fish parasitology
than those covered in the major themes of the meeting. Posters that are
particularly relevant to the major themes will be highlighted in the relevant
oral session. There will be a dedicated poster session. PublicationAll contributors will be invited to submit a manuscript to be considered, subject to space restrictions and the normal peer review process, for publication in a Supplement to the Journal of Fish Biology (Guest Editor: Dr Alan Pike). This will be published at the end of 2008. The language of the Symposium and manuscripts will be English. Manuscript Timeline1st March, 2008 - Deadline for manuscripts to be submitted on-line to the Editors, who will decide if they comply with the submission requirements of the Journal. On-line submission can be made at: Submissions must be clearly marked as intended for the Supplementary issue with the Subject Heading: FSBI 2008 SYMPOSIUM Early April, 2008 - Authors will be informed of acceptance of manuscripts or of any revisions required to meet Journal requirements. Accepted manuscripts will then be sent for review. 19 July, 2008 - Final manuscripts to be submitted on-line to the Editor before the start of the Symposium so as to facilitate rapid publication of the Supplement. Society MembershipThe Symposium Supplement to the Journal of Fish Biology is free to FSBI members. Other delegates may wish to join the Society and receive the Newsletter, the current year's issues of the Journal along with the Symposium Supplement, for a fee of £30 (Students, £15). |
