Call for Papers

The paper abstract submission deadline is now passed. Poster abstracts can stil be submitted.

Potential contributors should indicate their interest in presenting a poster by submitting a title and abstract (up to 250 words) by e-mail attachment (preferably in a Word document) to the conference co-ordinator, Tricia Ellis-Evans (e-mail: tricia@paceprojects.co.uk). The layout should be as follows:

TITLE OF PRESENTATION (in bold capital letters)

Author(s) names(s) (family name followed by given name and initials) and full address(es) but not academic titles or official positions.

Text of the abstract (250 word limit)

Below is an example:

USE OF BRACKISH WATER AS BRIDGES FOR DISPERSAL OF NON-INDIGENOUS FISH

Scott, D.M., Wilson, R.W. and Brown, J.A.

School of Biosciences, Hatherly Laboratories, University of Exeter, Exeter EX4 4PS, UK

The scientific committee will review all abstracts for relevance to the Symposium theme and scientific merit.

Poster contributions may cover wider aspects relevant to non-indigenous fish. Those particularly relevant to the three themes {(i) ecological interactions, (ii) ontogenetic aspects and life history strategies, (iii) physiological, behavioural and genetic constraints} will be highlighted in the relevant oral session. There will be a dedicated poster session.

Publication

All contributors will be invited to submit a manuscript to be considered, subject to space restrictions and the normal peer review process, for publication in a Supplement to the Journal of Fish Biology (Guest Editors: Dr Gordon Copp and Dr Vladimír Kovác). This will be published at the end of 2007.

The language of the Symposium and manuscripts will be English.

Manuscript Timeline

1st March, 2007 - Deadline for manuscripts to be submitted on-line to the Editors, who will decide if they comply with the submission requirements of the Journal.

On-line submission can be made at:
http://jfb.editorialmanager.com

Submissions must be clearly marked as intended for the Supplementary issue with the Subject Heading: FSBI 2007 SYMPOSIUM

Early April, 2007 - Authors will be informed of acceptance of manuscripts or of any revisions required to meet Journal requirements. Accepted manuscripts will then be sent for review.
